Solonia,
Inc. is dedicated to creating a distinctive collection of children's clothing;
each garment is meticulously constructed of the finest chemical-free fabrics
now available. We use extraordinary, organically grown, naturally colored
cottons, whose fibers have been carefully bred to enhance the natural
color, which becomes more vibrant after laundering, instead of fading.
To supplement the subtle shades of these fabrics, we apply nontoxic age-old
dyes to certified organic cotton; no artificial dyes are used.
The manufacturing techniques that are used by Solonia
reflect our commitment to neither harm the environment nor exploit any
work force. We support the organic farming of natural fibers, and designer
Cady Halvorson is personally acquainted with the working conditions that
prevail in the mills and sewing rooms that she utilizes. All Solonia products
are grown and sewn in the USA.
Parents appreciate the ecological concern, durability,
and reasonable cost of Solonia attire; kids like its comfort and wash-and-wear
ease. The addition of an item of our apparel to any wardrobe is a present
to everything else in the closet. Although Solonia is responsive to fashion
variations, the supple textiles and elegant simplicity of line combine
to give an impression of classic authenticity which can stand alone or
blend attractively with other garments.
Solonia had its beginnings in 1993 in Boulder, Colorado,
where Cady Halvorson designed custom clothing and nurtured two young children.
In 1995, after creating successful designs for other companies, Halvorson
established her own collection. Solonia was incorporated January 1, 1998
in Boulder, Colorado.
